How to convert HEIC to JPG with FileX
- Select your HEIC photos in Finder.
- Hold the drag key (⌥ Option on a Mac, Ctrl on Windows) and drag them. The FileX ring opens at your cursor.
- Drop them on JPG. Every photo gets a JPG copy saved next to the original.
Why convert HEIC to JPG offline
- Your photos stay private. Family photos and ID scans are never uploaded. Conversion happens on your computer.
- A whole camera roll in one drag. Select hundreds of HEIC files and convert them as a batch instead of one by one.
- Smaller files when you want them. Choose plain JPG, or the JPG 70% preset to make files smaller for sharing and e-mail.
HEIC to JPG questions
Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a JPG copy is not byte-for-byte the same as the HEIC original. FileX keeps your original file untouched, and lets you choose between JPG and a smaller JPG 70% preset.
Can I convert many HEIC files at once?
Yes. Select as many HEIC photos as you like, or a whole folder, and drop them on JPG. FileX converts them as a batch.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. FileX works offline and converts files on your own computer.
